Mrs. Geraldine Louise Berry Peel

Mrs. Geraldine Louise Berry Peel, 85, of Morganton Long Term Care passed away Monday, March 9, 2009. She was born in Burke County, NC on February 1, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Bert Berry and Lillian Broyles Berry. She was a member of United Baptist Church. Although primarily a homemaker, Geraldine had worked at various local textile mills throughout her life.Geraldine is survived by her son, Richard Berry and wife, Judy, of Valdese, NC; grandchildren and their spouses, Mark Berry, Angela Johnson, and Leslie Adkins; a brother, Marvin Berry of Valdese; and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Peel; a sister, Alma Blackburn; and three brothers, Max Berry, Willard Berry, and Grayson Berry.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Avery Owenby officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
