On January 7, 2025, Mrs. Ann B. Ryan (nee Gottfried) of Valdese, NC, formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away.

Born in the Bronx, NY on August 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George Gottfried and Helen Harris Gottfried. Ann worked as a waitress for 20 years and then as a tax accountant for 20 more. She liked to dance and go bowling.

She is survived by her beloved family, including her sons, John and Kevin; grandchildren, Tasha, Carissa, Jonathan, and Kevin; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joe and Helen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; and two brothers, George and Larry.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
