Mr. Sammy Lee Cook, 48, of Theron Street in Morganton died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born on July 15, 1957 to Doris Jones McCoy and the late Leroy Cook. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece Angel Wright, and a grandfather, Jack Cook. Mr. Cook had attended the Golden Valley United Methodist Church and had worked at Ellis Hosiery.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Georgia Hudson Cook, brothers Michael and Tim Cook, sisters Debra Bridges, Angela Honeycutt and Tammy Wright, two stepchildren, grandparents Rose Cook and Mollie Ebergene Burgess and a step father Ray McCoy.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July14, 2006 at Sossoman’s Colonial Chapel with the Reverend Michael Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6until 8 pm Thursday, July 13 at Sossoman Funeral Home.
