Mr. Coy Suttle, 95, of Fallston, NC, peacefully passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 following a brief illness.
Born in Roxboro, NC on February 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Robert William Suttle and Blanche M. Ross Suttle.
Coy lived a life marked by service and devotion. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves for more than thirty years. His service included active duty in occupied Germany following WWII.
A lifelong member of Walker Road Baptist Church, Mr. Suttle was deeply rooted in his faith and community. He was also active in civic organizations, including the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, through which he volunteered in support of an orphanage, and the local American Legion.
Mr. Suttle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Avis Elizabeth Hawkings, and sister Viola Suttle Mull.
He is survived by his children, Tim Suttles and wife, Karen, of Morganton, Benny Allen Suttle of Hickory, and Deborah Leigh Suttle of Fallston; grandchildren, Tim E. Suttles and wife, Nicole, Christy Suttles Wolfe, Joshua Suttle, and Tyler Suttle; great-grandchildren, Christian Wolfe, Conner Wolfe, Eli Wolfe, Lily Suttle, Zaylee Suttle, and Carter Suttle; a brother, Bobby Suttle and wife Mary; nephew, William F. Mull; and a number of other nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Mr. Suttle will also be dearly missed by his constant friends and companions, Ms. Sheila Gentry and family, Ms. Angela Lawson and family, Mr. John Carrol and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Erastus (Buck) Spangler.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

So sorry to hear. Coy was a good and friendly man . He was also a good neighbor. He will be missed.

Deborah I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you were very close to your Dad. So I am sure this a very hard time in your life and I pray God will provide you with comfort during this difficult time. I’m praying for your family as they go through this time as well.
