Morton Jessup Rose, 87, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Morton was born on December 4, 1928 in Bronx County, New York to the late Albert Rose and Irene Glickman Rose.
Morton was a veteran of the Korean War serving as 1st Lieutenant of the United States Air Force. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and the smartest guy known by his children. Morton had a lifelong passion for genealogy.
Morton is survived by his children, Richard Rose and wife, Gina of Morganton and Ilyssa Rose of New York, New York.
In addition to his parents, Morton was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Leibowitz Rose.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Morton Jessup Rose was a delightful contact for my genealogical research back in the day. He was convinced we were distant cousins--and he was probably right. Unfortunately, I never met him in person, since at that time (mid-1980s) I was living in the Bay Area in California and he was in Queens. He was a font of information and was a significant influence on my research at that time. I am sorry to learn of his passing. Condolences to his family.
