Morene McCurry Hall, 83, of Morganton, NC peacefully passed away while surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 23, 2016 after several years of declining health. Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sim and Ethel McCurry. Mrs. Hall was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a former employee of Morganton Dye and Finishing.
Morene is survived by her son, Freddie Hall and his wife, Teresa, of Union Mills, NC; daughters, Wanda Moses and her husband, Robert, of Morganton and Laura Palmberg and her husband, David, of Hickory, NC; four grandsons, Roland Moses and his wife, Anna, of TN, Dustin Hall, William Hall, and Ethan Palmberg; a great-grandchild, Meredith Moses; sisters, Frances Bridges and Katie Neely, both of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Morene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sherrill Hall; brothers, Mack McCurry and Oscar McCurry; and sisters, Geneva Costner and Elsie Setzer.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Bess officiating.
