Mollie J. Murphy, 88, of Drexel, NC passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Born October 2, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC she was a daughter of the late William McKinley Bailey and Minnie Willis Bailey.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. For a total of thirty years she was a loyal employee of Breeden Poultry for fifteen years and Henredon Furniture for fifteen years.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her son, Robert Wishon and wife, Betty; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Minnie Pearl Hutchins and special friends, Carrie Mull, Brenda Dale, Evelyn Parlier, and Melissa Davis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Murphy; son, Bobby Gene Wishon; brothers, Edward, Frank, and Bill Bailey; and sisters, Rose Spicer and Mary Goforth.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 12 noon, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday with the Revs. Darvy Hensley and Mark Hensley officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nowlings Chapel Freewill Chapel Church.
