Miss Odie Hall, 78, of Glen Alpine, NC went to her eternal home on Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born November 23, 1936 in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Rossie Hall and Eva Edgerton Hall. She was a very active member of Chambers Chapel Baptist Church, and Odie was the leader of the Hall Gospel Singers. She was a retired employee of Shadowline Textiles with over 34 years of service. She was a caregiver and minister to everyone she knew.
Odie is survived by her longtime companion, Frank Washington of Bostic, NC; grandchildren, Tabitha Ramseur and husband, Brad of Maiden NC, Amber Stallings and husband, Joe Jr., and Kent Fortner, all of Lenoir, NC, Dennis Fortner and Marsheylyn “Tai” Fortner, both of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Jacera and Jalaina Ramseur, and Harleigh and Nelson “Buddy” Stallings III; nieces and nephews, Tracy Caldwell, Betty Hall, Brenda Hall-Jefferson, and Robin Anderson; great nephews, Anthony Hall-Jefferson, and Terrance Anderson and a great niece, Alexis Anderson.
In addition to her parents, Odie was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kent Hall brothers, Calvin, Robert, and Jones Hall; and a sister, Ruth Lytle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Chambers Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug Cutherbertson, and Tommy Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 12:00 pm until 1:30 at Chambers Chapel Baptist.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home to help with funeral expense.
