Minnie Mae Davis

Minnie Mae Davis, 77, of Smawley Ave. in Morganton died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Sunrise Nursing Rehab Center in Nebo, NC following a period of declining health. She was born August 7, 1932 in Wilkes County, and was a daughter of the late Joe Rhodes and Rachel Mills Rhodes.She is survived by sisters, Nancy Hawkins and husband, Charles, and Elizabeth Rhodes, all of Morganton; a special niece, Sandra Presnell of Morganton, and her children, Daniel Presnell and Crystal Frady; and numerous other nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Davis; and a sister, Millie Ketchum.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Paul White officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 5142 Smawley Avenue, Morganton.
