Minnie Helen Owens Dickson

Minnie Helen Owens Dickson, 71, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Born in Cleveland County, NC on December 26, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Gordon Owens and Ethel Lee Owens.
Minnie was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. She loved life itself and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Minnie enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her family. She looked forward to spending time with her family during the holidays.
Minnie is survived by her companion, Ted Moorefield of the home; son, Ray Pruett and wife, Judy of Shiloh, NC; daughter, Renee Morrow of Union Mills, NC; brother, Wayne Owens of, Grover, SC; sister, Patricia Ann Morrison and husband, Paul of Shelby, NC. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Ann Hilts; brothers, Chuck, Rick, and Runt Owens; and sister, Mary Ruth Sanders.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 19, 2016 from, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Sunlight Baptist Church. The funeral will held 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jimmy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
