Mildred Lambirth Bost, 84, of Morganton, NC, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Born in Iredell County, NC on September 6, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lambirth and Lola Tevepaugh Lambirth.

Mildred enjoyed cross-stitch, jigsaw puzzles, and playing on her iPad. She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music, playing cards, and especially spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Tina Bowman (Danny); grandchildren, Nichole Kirschner, Tiffany Marks (Aaron), and Jamey Bivens (Melanie Jo); seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest “Curlee” Lambirth, Jr. (Kathy); sister, Louise Simmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brown Bost; son, Jerry Payne; and daughters, Trina Lloyd and Deborah Payne.

Services for Mildred will be held at a later date.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Aunt Ann always had a smile! I love her & will miss her. I always loved going to her house. She made you feel welcomed & loved!
