Mildred Harbison Bryant, 90 of Morganton, went to her Heavenly Home, Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Born on January 25, 1930, she was daughter of the late Millard and Bessie Harbison. Mildred was a member of McElrath Chapel AME Church where she served on several boards. She worked at Valdese Hospital and later retired from Broughton Hospital.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Henry Bryant (Brenda), Elias Bryant (Flossie); daughters, Betty Greene (James), Terri Collett (James); sisters, Edna Boyce, Martha Avery, Barbara Kincaid; sister-in-law, Annie Bryant; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Bryant, Sr.; son, Robert E. Bryant, Jr.; brother, James Harbison; sister, Maggie Rutherford, Gertrude Roane, Pearl Wilson.

Mildred will lie in state for friends and family to view, noon to 3pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at McElrath Chapel AME Church Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Battle officiating.  

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
