Mike Pearson, 76 of Valdese, NC passed away, Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Born on December 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Grant and Juanita Pearson. Mike was a loving husband, father, pawpaw and gpaw. He enjoyed football, shooting pool, and eating Mexican food. Mike was a loyal member of Morganton Moose Lodge and a Son of the American Legion. He gave the best hugs and was a good friend to everyone.

Mike is survived by his wife, Gail Helms Pearson; sons, Barry Pearson and Joey Pearson; grandchildren, Heath Pearson (Sara) and Austin Pearson (Kara); great-granddaughter, Caroline Pearson; siblings, Eugene Pearson, Detra Hall, Terryl Pearson (Lynda), and Lana German; and brother-in-law, Tommy Helms (Linda).

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Byron Pearson; infant brothers, Randy and Barry Pearson; and mother and father-in-law, Vera and Jirl Helms.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at United Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with the Revs. Steve Matthews and Steve Ramsey officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
