Michael S. Zopp, 57, of Morganton passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Born in Broome County, NY on November 7, 1959, he was the son of the late Michael Zopp and Norma Cleveland Zopp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed hunting, golfing, dancing, and bowling.
Mr. Zopp is survived by his wife, Susie Johnson Zopp of the home; a son, Michael Thomas Zopp of Illinois; a daughter, Melissa Gerhardt of Japan; grandchildren, Rhoin “Ella” Zopp, Grant Gerhardt, Maisyn Abigail Zopp, Holly French, Bailey French, Jillian French, and Allyson French; brothers, Mark and Matt Zopp, both of Morganton; sisters, Katrina Tackett of Ohio and Holly Zopp of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nephews and nieces.
No services are planned for Mr. Zopp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cade Arrowood Scholarship Fund, with checks payable to Draughn High School, 709 Lovelady Road NE, Valdese, NC 28690.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
