Michael “Dean” Warlick, 61, of Morganton passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Burke County on March 7, 1958, he was the son of the late Zane and Marie Warlick. 

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Warlick; and a brother, Doug Warlick.

He was veteran of the U.S. Army.  Dean enjoyed working in the yard and feeding his birds.  He lived life to the fullest and had a huge heart.

Dean is survived by his wife, Debbie Warlick of the home; daughters, Chrystal Mallory and Tonya Stamey; 7 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brother, Dennis Warlick; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his canine companion, Babygirl.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Revs. Danny Ward and Marty Bess officiating.  The graveside service will follow at noon at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
