Melbern D. Moore

Melbern D. Moore, 78 of Morganton died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Burke Palliative Care Center following a period of declining health. Born June 9, 1933 in Caldwell County, NC, he was the son of the late Arthur Columbus Moore and Annie Sue Walker Moore. Melbern spent his career as a hair stylist and barber. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and he attended Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Melita Garrison Moore.Melbern is survived by many friends including Pearl Deaton and Ray Kiser.The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Reverends Bob Hollar and David Duncan officiating. To share memories a gathering of friends will begin at 6:00 p.m. The committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
