Mary Virginia Cuthbertson Killian, 95, formerly of Hickory, NC went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on March 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Samuel M. Cuthbertson and Jocester Shell Forbes Cuthbertson. Mary was a member of Miller Lutheran Church. She owned and operated a daycare center on Springs Road and truly loved the children she looked after.
Mrs. Killian is survived by several nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Edwin Killian; sisters, Dorothy Henley, Grace Patton, Viola Cobb, and Hazel Powell; and brothers, Frank E. Shell, Wilson E. Cuthbertson, and Moyel T. Cuthbertson.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Catawba Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Rhodes officiating. The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service.
