Mary Ruth Puett Cooper, 73, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, January 24, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on May 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Weeks Puett, Sr. and Ruth Jones Puett. Mary was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.
Ms. Cooper is survived by her sister, Carolyn Puett Tilley and her husband, Warren, of Lenoir, NC; a brother, Lloyd Weeks Puett, Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Marion, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 1- 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Gil Larew officiating.
