Mary Naomi Patton Watson, 95, of Morganton passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Born in Burke County, NC on November 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late David Patton and Cora Seagle Patton. Mary was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her sons, Blane D. Watson and Paul A. Watson, Jr. (Gail); grandchildren, Stevie Watson, Brandon Watson, Danielle Watson, Susan Powell, Matthew Watson, Cori Figueroa (Oscar), Denise Dumford (Aaron), and Cody Watson (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Josean Garcia, Eleanor Watson, Ethan Dumford, Jonah Dumford, Adrian Figueroa, and Michael Figueroa; and a sister, Clara Jean Jackson.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Albert Watson; son, Steven Watson; brothers, Johnny, Arthur, Allen, and Delbert Patton; sisters, Winifred Mangum, Ruth Baker, Ella Puckett, Ruby Farris, and Faye Jaynes.
Services for Mrs. Watson will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or it’s cemetery fund, 5011 Dysartsville Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
