Mary Ellen Williams Drury

Mary Ellen Williams Drury, 85, of Connelly Springs, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Uray Williams and Ruth Cole Williams.  Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She retired from Broughton Hospital with over 25 years of service.  She loving playing the piano and animals, especially her cat, Mystic.  She especially loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Drury is survived by her daughters, Lethia Drury, Diane Drury Kiddy (Doug), Sandra Drury Barnes (Sammy), and Delores Drury Buchanan; son, John H. Drury (Penny); grandchildren, Malik Drury, Scott Kiddy, Jason Kiddy, Shaun Kiddy, Jessica Brittain, Haley Peaden, Dennis Hale, Jo Elle Hemphill, Johnathan Drury, Elizabeth Smith, and Brittany Taylor; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, David Williams; sister, Linda Norvell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by his husband, Jack Whitley Drury; daughter, Kathy Drury Johnston; grandchildren, Chance Drury and Jamie Brittain; brothers, Howard, Dean, and Tony Williams; and sisters, Beatrice Epley, Gladys Walker, and Patsy Johnson.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Rocky Reese officiating.  The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service.
