Mary Elizabeth Crowder Clark

Mary Elizabeth Crowder Clark, 95, of C. C Drive, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 22, 2007 after a brief illness. Mrs. Clark was born August 11, 1911 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Rev. William "Bill" Palmer Crowder and Laura Fannie McMurray Crowder. She was a devoted and beloved member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member. She was a shining example of Christian love to all, and her legacy will live on for ever.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Manley E. Clark, Sr., whom she met while they were both working at Broughton Hospital as nursing aides and by sons, Manley E. Clark, Jr., Steve Edward Clark, Clyde Hoey Clark, Paul Dale Clark, Lou "Champ" Clark, and "Tom" Reid A. Clark. She is survived by a son, Mark Wayne Clark and wife Linda of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Wanda Feimster and husband Steve of Morganton; sister, Lucy Upton of Forest City, NC; and daughters-in-law, Lottie Clark, and Joan Clark both of Morganton, and Barbara Clark of Cleveland Co., NC. .

Funeral for Mrs. Clark will be 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Lovelace and Rev. Eddie Bunton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Lottie Clark, 2046 C. C.
