Mary Elizabeth Brotherton Walker, 69, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on January 26, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Junior Morgan Brotherton and Margaret Frances Moffitt Brotherton.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved cooking, movies, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Christina Powell and Lacey Walker; granddaughter, Chloe Woodard; siblings, Glenda Nissan, Peggy Barr, Brenda Edmonds, Frances Barr, and Johnny Brotherton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Walker; brother, Ray Brotherton; and Shirley Huffman.
The service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the family home on Jug Wilson Street in Glen Alpine.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
