Mary Elizabeth “Beth” LaBarbera, 62, of Morganton, NC, died Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Born on September 1, 1962, she was the daughter of the late James David Berry, Sr. and Freda Mayo Berry.
Beth was a longtime employee of Peoples Bank in Newton, NC. She retired as Senior Vice President – North Regional Sales Manager. Beth was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church, Kiwanis International Club, and a founding member of the TT Club.
She dearly loved her family and friends. Beth enjoyed reading, crafting, and trips to the beach. She also enjoyed feeding and watching her birds on the front porch, as well as feeding and caring for the baby calves.
Beth is survived by her husband, Joseph LaBarbera; daughters, Whitney Masterson (Jon) and Erin Hart (Brett); grandchildren, Logan Masterson and Morgan Hart; brother, David Berry (Crystal); sister-in-law, Deborah LaBarbera; niece, Jamie Berry; and nephew, Tripp Berry.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund or to Amorem Hospice.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

We have known the family for many years through Skip & Tina Isenhour (our family). Joe and Beth are extended family to Skip and Tina by choice. It is a beautiful framily. Beth is a beautiful gracious woman.
Family, Beth now resting in her Heavenly Place with her Lord. ..No doubt about! Her love and kindness will never be forgotten. That million dollar smile lives on forever. So carry on family because that is what she would want you all to do. I will never forget her and the Bright Faith and Hope that she brought to everyone she encountered. Dear Family. I met Beth in the Spring of ‘23 at a Walk to Emmaus weekend. She told us about her cancer and we prayed for her healing! She was a positive and courageous lady. My sincere sympathy as you move forward without her. God’s comfort and peace 🕊️.
