Mary Delia Shuffler

Mary Delia Shuffler, 83, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, May 24, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on February 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Carze Alexander Mull and Delia Alice LaFevers Mull.  Mary was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher in the Children’s Department for many years.  Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her son, Steve Shuffler and his wife, Millie, of Morganton; grandchildren, Stephanie Mills and her husband, Steven, and C.J. Shuffler and his wife, Karen, all of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Sean Mills, Connor Mills, Lena Mills, Elijah Mills, Talon Shuffler, and Clark Shuffler; siblings, Maezell Grady and her husband, Jim, Essie Gillespie, Jewel Clay, and Butch Mull and his wife, Peggy, all of Morganton; a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much; and her feline companion, Middie.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lee T. Shuffler; a son, Lonnie Ray Shuffler; brothers, Ray, Fleming, and C. A. Mull; and a sister, Queen Nutting.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Rose officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  At other times family will be at the residence of her son, Steve Shuffler.
