Marvin M. Metcalf

Marvin M. Metcalf, 88, of Goodman Lake Rd, Morganton, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Grace Hospital. Born December 19, 1921 in Buncombe County, NC and was the son of the late Horace M. Metcalf and Laura Price Metcalf. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Metcalf and sisters, Bonnie Pruett and Gladys Whisenant.Marvin is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 3396 Pea Ridge Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
