Martin Wayne Allen, 64, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Born June 3, 1954 in McDowell County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Orville Elsworth Allen and Edith Beaver Allen.
Mr. Allen was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a jokester and a loyal Cleveland Browns fan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy Jane Dale Allen; daughters, Alicia Allen, Amber Allen Pratt, and Sarah Bame (James); step-children, Myron Wise (Maile) and Jennifer Smith (Eric); and grandchildren, Mason, Benton, Reilly, Paris, Dalton, Trenton, Landry, Rylan, and Jaiden. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Ruth Burleson; sister-in-law, Rhonda Browning (Archie); the Carson family; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his brothers, A.G., Junior, and Darrell Allen.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 12 noon, Saturday, March 16 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 12 noon, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Dewey Thomas and Rev. Keith Burkhart officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
