Martha Hazel Suttle Busic, 96, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Born in Burke County, NC on September 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Rusel Suttle and Berta Sanders Suttle.

Mrs. Busic was a member of Way of the Cross Church on Dentons Chapel Road. She loved God and reading her Bible daily. Martha found her greatest joy outdoors, and was an avid gardener. The budding flowers and lush greenery reflected her exuberance for spring and summer, which she cherished more than any time of year.

Martha possessed a remarkable strength of character and an unwavering sense of independence. Her strong-willed nature and optimistic outlook permeated every aspect of her life. She was not one to harbor ill feelings; instead, she embraced the beauty in everyone around her.

Martha is survived by her step-son, Johnny Busic; nephew, Dennis Clark; and best-friend, Loretta Marie Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Busic; step-daughter, Janette Renee Stone; and sister, Mae Clark.

The service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2025 in the chapel at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Richard Ellington officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
