Marta Rie Werkheiser, 66, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Born in Easton, PA on October 19, 1951, she was the daughter of Arleen Bowers Vought of Phillipsburg, NJand the late Raymond Vought. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved her family dearly. She especially loved to knit, croquet, and make things for her family.
Marta is survived by her sons, James Werkheiser, Jr. (Juliet) and Warren Werkheiser (Chasity); grandsons, James Werkheiser, III, Warren Werkheiser, Jr., Henry Werkheiser, and William Werkheiser; and siblings, Annell Markle, Raylene Venner, Rufus Vought, and Rollo Vought.
In addition to her father, Marta was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Werkheiser, Sr.
No services are planned for Mrs. Werkheiser.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
