Margaret Herring Ostrander, 78, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 26, 2022.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. Herring and Lyonne Toner Herring. Margaret was once a member of Life Church in Valdese. She retired from Hildebran Medical Clinic with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed taking cross country motorcycle trips with her late husband. She was a faithful wife and compassionate mother.

Margaret is survived by her children, Michael Ostrander and Nancy Osborne (Chris); and grandchildren, Matthew Epley, Jacqueline Epley, and Evelyn Osborne.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Ostrander.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Danny Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
