Margaret Henson Arney

Margaret Henson Arney, 60 of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was born April 27, 1957 in Burke County, NC and was the daughter of the late Levi Henson and Gladys Carpenter Henson. Margaret enjoyed traveling and anything to do with the outdoors. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Margaret was a member of Church of God in Morganton.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Quinton Arney; a brother, Jimmy Henson; and sister-in-law, Patricia Henson.
Margaret is survived by a son, Christopher Arney and wife, Andrea of Morganton; grandchildren, Calie and C.J. Arney; nephews, John Harding of Lenoir and Tim Henson; siblings, Grace McCall of Lenoir, Leroy Henson and wife, Marcella of Spruce Pine, Harold Henson of Lenoir, Mary Henson of Banner Elk, NC and Roy Henson of Newland; and niece, Kathy Odom of Hampton, TN.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at 406 Rocky Ford Street, Morganton, NC 28655. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
