Manuel Junior Woods, 88 of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born April 27, 1929 in Jackson County, NC and was the son of the late Jerry Manuel Woods and Mae Gurley Woods.
Manuel was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Plemmons Woods.
He is survived by his children, Robert Dean Woods, Betty Bobbit and Jerry Woods; sisters, Artie Helton and Joyce Rector; five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at the church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
