Manley Russell Barrier, 71, of Morganton, NC died Monday, January 4, 2016. Born in McDowell County, NC on September 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Carranze Eddie Barrier and Mary Sudie Mosteller Barrier. Mr. Barrier retired from Broughton Hospital after thirty years of service.
Manley is survived by his brother, Finley Barrier and his wife, Cathy, of Old Fort, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Carter and her husband, Wiley, of Old Fort and Lucille Craig of Nebo, NC; a sister-in-law, Bertha Barrier; a number of nephews and nieces; and special friends, Diane, Ashley, and Steven.
In addition to his parents, Manley was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Blair Barrier; and a brother, David Barrier.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Worley officiating.
