Malvin Herbert Beane, 93, of Morganton died Monday, November 25, 2019. Born in Caldwell County, NC on October 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Milton Eleaney Beane and Martha Elizabeth Gragg Beane. Malvin was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He enjoyed collecting artifacts, making walking sticks, and was happy working in his shop. Malvin loved nature.
Mr. Beane is survived by his sons, Randy Beane and Shaun Franken (girlfriend, Cathy McNice); daughter, Michele Franken (John Lasher); grandchildren, Ethan Beane, Dustin Beane, Shaun Dylan Franken, Logan Franken, Marnie Gage Lasher, Casey Kincaid, and Jason Kincaid; six great-grandchildren; brother, Maynard Beane (Doris); and sister, Myrtle Black.
In addition to his parents, Malvin was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Rae Linehan Beane; daughter, Linda Kincaid; and grandson, Darren Beane.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2019 at Catawba Valley Baptist Church. The funeral for Malvin and Kathryn will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dean Hart officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 30 at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
