Lucy Pena, 67 of Morganton, NC died Friday, August 10, 2012 at her residence. Born September 22, 1944 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Amercio and Carmen Varela Pena. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peaquita Pena and a son, Manule Salas.Surviving are her husband, Juan Salas; and children, Anna Elisa Salas of Puerto Rico, Maria Salas of Ohio, Iluminada Salas and Marisol Salas both of Morganton.The funeral mass will be said at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour before the mass.
