Lowell Alan Neeley, 79, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. He was born June 16, 1942 in Ohio to the late William Sylvester Neeley and Della Murphy Neeley. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising his kids, fishing, going out on his boat but truly loved astronomy. He also loved coaching baseball, enjoyed hockey, helping with the music at church and building things around the house. He loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Edward Neeley and sister, Aldena Sue Neeley Wilcox.
He is survived by his wife Martha Ulrich Neeley; children, Lowell Alan Neeley, Jr., Virginia Faye Neeley, and Ian Jared McDowell; grandchildren, Heather Virginia McDowell Stowe, Samantha Lynn Neeley and Kelly-Ann Nicole Neeley; great-grandchild, Ryder Corbett Stowe; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 5:00pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Friends for Animals.
