Louise Brittain Phillips

Louise Brittain Phillips, 88, of Camelot Dr., Morganton, NC died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health. Born in Burke County, NC on October 7, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James Robert Brittain and Susan Belle Huffman Brittain. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Morganton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William "Bill" Phillips; her son, Robert William "Bobby" Phillips; a brother, Ned Brittain; and a sister, Gladys Brittain Mull.Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Phillips Tracey and her husband, David of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Anna Tracey and William Tracey; a sister, Jean Brittain Abshire and her husband, Gerald of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one hour before the service.
