Lou Ellen Huffman Feimster, 86, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, January 23, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born on March 17, 1934, in Burke County to the late Schyler Huffman and Lily Carswell Huffman. Lou Ellen was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed her adult senior group. She retired from Drexel Knitting Mills Company after 30+ years of service.

After she retired, she discovered an incredible talent for painting floral murals full of color, life, and detail. Lou Ellen enjoyed exercising and talking walks around her neighborhood. She loved finding a good deal and shopping with family and friends. She was a loyal friend and who made an effort to keep in touch with those she held dear.

She is now reunited in spirit with her husband of 68 years, Willard “Jack” Feimster, after a brief 11-day separation. She is survived by her son, Willard “Jack” Feimster, Jr. (Marilyn); daughter, Sandra Mangum (Jimmy); grandchildren, Jonathan Mangum, Lee Mangum, Daniel, John, and Jim Feimster; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Huffman.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 4pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. An entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum at 4:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4754 Old Hwy 18, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
