Lola Bell Denton Hipps, 91 of Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019. Born on September 23, 1927, she was the daughter to the late Augustus Denton and Eva Rebecca Estelle Lane.
Lola is survived by her husband, Joseph Ray Hipps of Morganton; son, Ronald Lee Hipps (Donita) of Valdese; daughter, Shirley Elizabeth Simpson (Donald) of Stuttgart, AR; grandchildren, LeeAnn Earl (Dennis) of Morganton, John Joseph Hipps (Jennifer) of King, NC, Ronald Lee Hipps, Jr. of Connelly Springs, Keri R. Thomas (Carson) of Colombia, SC, Reagan L. Reasoner (Justyn) of Drexel, Donald Garrett Hipps (Somayra) of Boca Raton, FL, Christy E. Fulbright (Michael) of Hickory; 30 great grandchildren; sister, Mamie Lowman of Hildebran; brother, Preston Denton of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Lola is preceded in death by her step-father, Elam Spurgin Epley; sisters, Bertha Denton, Carrie Hicks, Mary Jo Black, Irene McIntosh; brother, William Denton.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Mt. View #2 on Dysartsville Road. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the church with the Revs. Kenneth Mashburn and Michael Gantt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
