Lois Banks Brown, 76 of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born March 27, 1942 in Yancey County, NC and was the daughter of the late Evert Banks and Avaline Arrowood Banks. Lois was the owner of Jack and Jill Daycare.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
She is survived by son, Marvin Culbertson and wife Kathy of Morganton; daughter, Gwen Long and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Carly Culbertson, Beth Jordan and husband, Zach, and Clinton Long; and brother, Dale Banks and wife, Clara Lee.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
