Lloyd "Bucky" Bradley Georges, 72, of Morganton died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Burke Palliative Center. Born in Cook County, IL on December 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Wilson Jacob Georges and Edda Inez Bowman Renick. Bucky was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He was a manager of Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, SC and was awarded "Man of the Year" for sports in 1980 by The Robeson County Council. Bucky loved his family and his church.Lloyd is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Musselwhite Georges of the home; daughters, Debbie Georges Pope of Lumberton, NC and Shari Renee Georges Ray of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Barry Wilson Georges and his wife, Peggy, of Morganton and Frank Peter Renick, Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Laurel, MO; sisters, Carol Rae Beauxis and her husband, Raymond, of Morganton and Sallie Faye Renick Tester of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren, Christina "Princess" Ashley Ray, and Joy Renee Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Brad Anthony Ray, Desten Taylor-Ray, Jordan Bradley Pope; and Allyah, Renee Pope; and close friends, Frank Todd and Griff Parks.In addition to his parents, Bucky was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Delight Georges, and a grandson, Samuel Bradley Pope.The memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Home Baptist Church, 2272 Mt. Home Church Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
