Linda Lou Banner Norville

Linda Lou Banner Norville, 64, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at her residence. Born in Avery County, NC on July 23, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William Hobert Banner and Ruby Mae McKinney Banner. She was a member of Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Linda is survived by her son, Buford L. Norville and his wife, Lori, of Morganton; daughters, Shannon N. Vess and Misty N. Stogner and her husband, Jonathan, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hurt and her husband, Dustin, Mitchell Norville, Samantha Vess, Brayden Vess, Brianna Hardin, Issac Hardin, Deanna Hardin, Jon Jon Stogner, and Cameron Ryan; a great-grandson, Aiden Bowman; brothers, Gary Banner and his wife, Marilyn, Winfred Banner and his wife, Linda, and Christopher Banner and his wife, Andrea, all of Morganton; sisters, Nadine McPeters and Irma Smith and her husband, Philip, both of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Silas Norville; a grandson, Jacob Hardin; and a brother, C.L. Banner.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral.
