Linda “Kay” Mac Vicar (nee Cannon), age 79, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. Born in Morganton, North Carolina, she moved to Rahway, NJ as a child. As a teenager, she attended Rahway High School where she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, her “Buttered Bun”, Ted. They married and raised a family in Clark NJ. Kay had an impressive career in the healthcare profession that spanned 38 years. She worked at Rahway Hospital in Rahway, first as a registered nurse, then as a nursing educator, and finally as a hospital administrator. After retiring, Kay moved back to North Carolina to enjoy the calm and serenity of the Great Smoky Mountains for 20 years. Just 2 years ago, she moved to Wanaque, NJ to be closer to her family.
Kay was predeceased by her parents Merriell and Irene Cannon, her brother Richard Cannon, her daughter, Amylynne Mac Vicar-Quigley, and her grandson, Michael Austin Mac Vicar. She is survived by her beloved husband, Theodore Roger Mac Vicar and her sons, T. Michael Mac Vicar and his wife Lisa of Bloomfield, NJ and Christopher W. Mac Vicar and his wife Mary Kate of New Gloucester, Maine. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Matthew Mac Vicar and his partner Nicole, Joshua Torres, Casey Hoffman and her husband Timothy, Emily Mac Vicar, Sarah Mac Vicar, Grayson Mac Vicar, and Alex Mac Vicar. She is also survived by one great grandson, Ashton Mac Vicar. Kay was the cherished sister of Sandi Munsey (Bob) of North Carolina, Francis Armstrong (Larry) of Chatham, NJ, Nancy Miller (David) of North Carolina and Juana Cannon of Rahway, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
