Lillie Hoyle Clontz, 80, of Lail Rd., Glen Alpine, NC went to be with her Savior on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Burke Palliative Care Center in Valdese, NC following a period of declining health. She was born April 5, 1928 in Burke County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Fred Hoyle and Mae Roper Terry. She was a 35 year employee of Roses in Morganton, and was of the Baptist faith.Lillie is survived by sons, Fred H. Clontz and wife, Vickie, and James R. Clontz, Jr. and wife, Reba, daughters, Sheila "Pat" Thompson and husband, Grady, and Tasha Dawn Clontz, all of Glen Alpine; a brother, Dean Terry of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Lori Dawn Williams, Beatrice Jane Clontz, Royanna Paulette Clontz, Kimberly Ann Calhoun, Jamen Roy Clontz, III, Courtney Lynn Clontz, and Jerry Eugene Fair; great-grandchildren,Kasha Ray Pritchard, Jonesha Wilkerson, Chasity Branch, Charity Branch, Josh Hughes, Ashley Gardner and husband, Chris, and Grant Huffman; and great great-grandchildren, Bryson Patrick Clontz, and Keelieigh Jade Clontz.In addition to her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Clontz, Sr; a brother, Jack Hoyle; and a great-grandson, Freddie James Williams.Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Sunrise Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas St. John and Rev. Craig Price officiating. Burial will follow at Bible Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at Sunrise Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Jim Clontz, 2261 Lail Rd., Glen Alpine. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
