Lettie Smith Dula

Lettie Smith Dula, 102, of Connelly Springs, NC died Friday, August 22, 2014. Born in Caldwell County, NC on June 14, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Smith and Daisy Kaylor Smith. A good Christian person, Lettie was a member of Connelly Springs First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Valdese Manufacturing.
Mrs. Dula is survived by her brother, Harold E. “Bill” Smith of Rutherford College, NC; sisters, Juanita Williams of Icard, NC, Violet Smith of Rutherford College, Marjorie Ramsey and her husband, Louis, of Rutherford College, and Rachel Foster of Brookford, NC; a special niece, Maxine Childres of Hildebran, NC; and a special nephew, Jack Harrison of Charleston, SC.
In addition to her parents, Lettie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Henry Dula; brothers, Paul, James, Earl, and Rex Smith; and sisters, Beatrice Smith and Wilma Kirby.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls with the Rev. Danny Townsend officiating. The body will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center prior to the service.
