Leslie Ellen Freeman, 58, of Morganton, NC passed away after a lengthy battle of health issues on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was born on May 28, 1967 in Greene County, TN to Nancy Bowman Wilson and the late Kenneth Wilson. Leslie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a devout member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, NC. Her care for others showed in her nursing career of 20+ years. She was very dedicated and loved her patients. Leslie will be remembered by all those she worked with. She loved crafting, especially making acrylic crafts. She also loved animals-especially horses, enjoyed attending horse shows with her daughters and she loved her dog Lucy. Leslie loved her trips to Cades Cove with her family. She was considered a jack of all trades, master of noneyet.

In addition to her mother, Nancy Wilson, she is survived by her husband, Wayne Freeman; daughters, Emily Garrison and Rachel Garrison (Kenneth Talley); step-daughters, Candora Clarke, Jana Quick, and Sarah Dodson (Eric); grandchildren, Riley Self, Zylia Goode, Bailey Clarke, Veronica Dodson, Aidan Dodson, Nate Dodson, and Bryant Quick; sister, Alani Curtis (Brian); uncle, Eric Bowman; former husband and father of the children, Bryan Garrison; and a host of extended family and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Friday, July 18, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Minister Chris Bass officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I first met Leslie thru my work at magnolia Lane nursing rehab center in Morganton she was a very sweet and caring person I was glad to have gotten to know her She will be missed by all who that knew and loved her . My prayers go out to her family .🙏🙂‍↕️💞🌈
