LeRoy Wayne Exner, 90 of Morganton, NC passed away, Monday, October 16, 2023. Born on January 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Conrad and Helen Exner.
LeRoy was of the Christian faith. He loved music and sports, but most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Mildred Louise Exner; children, Jeri Boerger (Mark), Timothy Exner, Jeffrey Exner (Tracey); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, LeRoy is preceded in death by his siblings, Conrad Exner, Jr. and Gerald Exner.
There are no services planned at this time for the Exner family.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I was not aware of Uncle Lee's passing until a couple of days ago. I am so sorry for your loss. I was so lucky to have been born into a family that gave me such an amazing uncle. I have so many warm memories of Uncle Lee that if you asked me for one, it would be too hard to choose. One memory I have shared with my husband was when Uncle Lee would make popcorn. He would pour it into a brown paper bag and add a bag of chips. So good. My husband won't eat popcorn any other way now. I adored my Uncle Lee, Uncle Jerry and my dad so much. I smile when I think of them all together now. Uncle Lee with his guitar, my dad singing away and Uncle Jerry with the stump fiddle. Have fun you guys. Love you always.
