Leona H. Kanzleiter, 88, of Grace Heights in Morganton died Monday, February 6, 2006 at the nursing home following a period of declining health. She was born November 14, 1917 in Allegheny County, PA, and was a daughter of the late John Fromherz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kanzleiter. Leona was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Barbara Kanzleiter of Morganton; grandchildren, Kim Kanzleiter Beck and husband, Keith, Kenny Kanzleiter, Jr. and wife, Jenny, all of Morganton; great grandchildren, Caitlin Beck, Kevin Beck, Olivia Kanzleiter, and Van Kanzleiter, all of Morganton.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Rev. Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:00 pm at the church. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh, PA. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the local arrangements.
