Lemuel Farris, Jr. better known as “Bob”, 91 of Morganton, NC went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 6, 2022. Born on April 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Lemuel Joseph Farris and Myrtle Padgett Farris. Bob was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a friend to everyone. Bob was a people person, a hardworking man who was loved by many.
Bob is survived by his sons, Marlow Farris (Debbie), Dwight Farris (Jann), and Mark Farris (Susan); a daughter, Robin Beaver (Jim); grandkids, Neil Farris (Kristin), Matthew Farris (Lori), Lindsay Farris, Leslie Gragg (Johnathan), and Kirby Farris; great grandkids, Delainey, Ryan, Marley, Elly, Gracie, and Walt; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Patton Farris; nine brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Bethel UMC on Dysartsville Rd. A funeral service will begin at 3pm with Revs. Don Farris and Douglas St. John officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road.
