Committal
Lee Stanley Glover (Stan), 78, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Stan was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a friend who “never met a stranger.” Stan was a pastor in the Church of God of Prophecy, pastoring churches in Morehead City, Burnsville, Kernersville and Winston-Salem, NC until his retirement. He was a true “shepherd” at all of the churches he pastored, not only proclaiming God’s Word but also showing great care to everyone at each congregation. Stan also served as a summer camp director for several years, and he went on mission trips to El Salvador, Panama, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. His wife, Catherine, was always by his side as they served the Lord together.
Following his retirement and move to Morganton, he operated a booth at the Jamestown Flea Market on the weekends. It was always more than sales as he continued his caring ministry by showing love and encouragement to all those who passed by.
Stan was a veteran who served in the United States Army. He was very grateful for the VA hospital and medical facilities that provided care for him in his latter years.
Stan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine Cook Glover; his three children: Andy (Lynn) of Nashville, TN, Patrick (Karen) of Kernersville, NC, and Jeannie Golden (Mike) of Rock Hill, SC; and his seven grandchildren: Justin, Jacob, Katie, Bethany, Samuel, Elijah, and Ella.
A memorial service for Stan will be held at Faith Church, 241 Hopkins Rd., Kernersville, NC, on Saturday, May 23, at 11:00am, with visitation following the service.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
