Lawrence Ray Cannon, 79, of Lenoir went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 27, 2019.  Born in Caldwell County, on March 28, 1939, he was the son of the late L. E. Cannon and Mildred Williams Cannon.  Lawrence attended Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church and was an avid race fan.  He enjoyed camping with his family.  Lawrence had many friends and was loved by many.

Mr. Cannon is survived by his wife, Naomi Cannon of the home; daughters, Regina Coffey (Mike), Gloria Lowery, Lisa Simmons (Rick), and Crystal Cannon; grandchildren, Glynn Judd (Sandra), Adrienne Curtis (Aaron), Brittany Simmons, Grace Coffey, Tyler Coffey, and Kendal Bryant; great-grandsons, Xander and Xachery Judd; brother, Harold Cannon; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elaine Judd; sister, Dot Storie; twin-brother, Clarence; and brothers, Bobby and J.T.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Doug Woody and Preacher Todd Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
